ARTICLE I: PARLIAMENTARY AUTHORITY
Meetings of the club shall conduct its business at general membership meetings according to Robert's Rules of Order.
ARTICLE II: MEMBERSHIP
- Section 1 - Voting Members
Any student currently attending The Ohio State University may become a voting member by presenting a payment of one year's club dues to the treasurer. Dues for a voting member shall be in the amount of $5.00 per year. - Section 2 - Honorary Members
Any member of The Ohio State University faculty, staff, or other employee, or alumni of The Ohio State University may become an honorary member by presenting payment of one year's club dues to the treasurer. Dues for an honorary member shall be in the amount of $10.00 per year. - Section 3 - Associate Members
Interested individuals not associated with the university may become associate members by presenting payment of one year's club dues to the treasurer. Dues for an associate member shall be in the amount of $15.00 per year. - Section 4 - Membership Period
Membership terms shall be for a period of one year, and begin on January 1st. - Section 5 - Termination of Membership
- Inappropriate conduct, as defined by university rules and regulations governing public conduct on campus shall be grounds for termination of membership.
- Failure to pay dues shall constitute termination of the membership by the member.
- Termination of membership for above reasons does not require a vote by the membership, and may be carried out by notice in writing to said member by the coordinator.
- A voting membership meeting may be called for the purpose of terminationg a person's membership by submission in writing to the coordinator and P.R. committee a signed petition stating the grievance with the member. The petition must have at least 10 voting members' signatures, and must be presented at least 30 days in advance of the proposed meeting.
- If the above petition is correctly presented, 2/3 of a quorum of the voting membership shall be sufficient to terminate said member's membership.
ARTICLE III: VOTING
- Section 1 - Votes
- All votes by the voting membership shall be carried out at voting membership meetings, and are open to the full membership of the club.
- Voting shall be by a show of hands, with votes counted by two members of the showing committee who are selected beforehand by the coordinator.
- A re-count of the vote may be called by 2/3 of a quorum of the voting membership.
ARTICLE IV: ELECTIONS AND APPOINTMENTS
- Section 1 - Timing
Elections and appointments shall be the first order of business at meetings at which they are required. - Section 2 - The Coordinator
The coordinator shall be chosen by the voting membership at the first meeting in January from among any eligible candidates who choose to represent themselves at said meeting. - Section 3 - Interim Officership
An interim coordinator may be appointed by the above voting procedure at any time should the incumbent resign, be expelled as a member, or fail to carry out his or her duties for any reason. - Section 4 - Appointments
The treasurer, committee liason, and chairs of committees are appointed by the coordinator. Should a member be appointed to any position and fail to perform to the satisfaction of the coordinator, they may be replaced at any time by the action of the coordinator.
ARTICLE V: STANDING COMMITTEES
- Section 1 - Showing Committee
The showing committee is responsible for the smooth operation of club sponsored screenings. The showing committee will make certain that a location is reserved, equipment is available, and material is available to show. The showing committee will decide among its members what will be shown at any showing, and provide this information to the public relations committee at least 15 days before scheduling any showing. The showing committee is required to consult with the treasurer before incurring any costs associated with any showing. - Section 2 - Public Relations Committee
The P.R. committee is responsible for publicizing the club's showings to the campus and community in general. The P.R. committee is expected to create and display flyers around campus announcing the showing, and any associated voting membership meetin. The P.R. committee will place flyers on campus no later than 10 days before any showing. The P.R. committee is required to consult with the treasurer before incurring any costs associated with publicizing any event.
ARTICLE VI: ADVISOR REQUIREMENTS

ARTICLE VII: MEETING REQUIREMENTS
- Section 1 - Meeting Schedule
- It is not expected that the club should require very frequent voting membership meetings, most of its business being carried out in committee by interested volunteer members. For such things as a vote by the general membership is required, meetings will be scheduled immediately prior to or immediately following showings.
- At least one voting membership meeting is required yearly, for the purpose of election of a coordinator. This meeting shall occur as first meeting in January each year.
- Section 2 - Announcement
All voting membership meetings shall be open to the full membership, and shall be announced through the same channels as showings at least 10 days prior to the showing. - Section 3 - Quorum
A quorum of the voting membership shall be defined as 50% of the voting membership, or 40 people, whichever is smaller.
ARTICLE VIII: AMENDMENTS
- Section 1 - Proposal
Proposed amendments to the By-Laws must be in writing, and may be presented to the membership at any voting membership meeting by any voting member. The amendment will be presented at each voting membership meeting for a period of not less than 15 days, and not more than 30 days (sponsoring member need not attend each meeting) prior to the meeting at which it will be voted upon. - Section 2 - Voting
A By-Laws amendment required 2/3 of a quorum of the voting membership to pass.
