How This Works
Showings are held every Friday in room 160 of the
209 W. 18th Avenue Building, and begin at
6:00 PM. Showings normally run until 12:00 AM, but the exact length may vary
according to what is scheduled for a given night, or due to any technical
difficulties (but we
never have
those...).
We alternate between "on-weeks," which are scheduled by the showing committee,
and "off-weeks" where people bring things in and we decide democratically.
We're sort of purists, so all showings are done subtitled with the original
Japanese dub excepting cases where it's simply not possible.
If you're confused or have questions hit up a
club officer
at the showing for more details.
This Quarter
This year for on-weeks, we continue our tradition of (sort of) balanced scheduling:
- 6:00 - Today's Class 5-2: An episodic comedy involving strangely-mature fifth graders doing fifth-grader things(?).
It won't change your life, but it's fun.
- 7:00 - Break Time!: you have time to grab food, socialise yourself, etc.
- 7:30 - Movie: The movie spot is where we show a movie. This year we have a final schedule nearly ironed out (Work on it, Tim!).
- 9:00 - Umineko no Naku Koro ni: A show that creepily alternates between cuteness and brutality. Yes, again.
If it seems similar to Higurasi (which we showed in the same spot last year), it is. It's just like that, only better in every way possible.
Probably does not feature fingernail removal as a plot point. Probably.
- 10:00 - Basquash!: Have you ever wanted to retrofit your '70s-era Beetle into a basketball-playing mecha? Don't bother; it's been done (possibly by the Simpsons before this, even). Yes, this show has mecha lacing up their Nikes and shooting hoops. I am not making this up.
- 11:00 - RahXephon: It's not Raideen. It's not Eva, either (despite what dissenters will tell you). A deeply psychological super robot war story that came a whole year before Gundam SEED crapped up the genre.
Schedule subject to change without notice.
